New Kāinga Ora Accessibility Policy
16 Tīsema 2019
With our new Accessibility Policy, we have committed to ensuring that at least 15% of the new homes we are building across the country meet universal design standards, and the rest meet as many of these universal design standards as possible.
We will also see how these universal design standards can be included as part of our retrofit programme for our existing homes and as part of this policy, we’ll also collect more information about the accessibility features of our homes and more information about our customer’s needs so we can better support current and future customers.
From 2021-2022, we will be formally reporting against this target in accountability documents like our Annual Report.
