Conserving water at work and at home
28 Fēpueli 2020
It’s great to enjoy the warmer weather at this time of year but it also means the demand for water rises just like the temperature does.
Over summer, demand for water in Auckland rises by up to 20%.
The previous record for the most amount of water used in a single day was broken three times last week with the highest being 568 million litres of water on Wednesday, February 19.
If businesses and residential users continue to use more and more water on hot days, there a chance water restrictions may be introduced down the track.
Watercare – Auckland’s water authority, has created a great website where you can find heaps of information, tips to save water and other details.
