Our Gender and Ethnic Pay Gap data has been published for the first time as part of Kia Toipoto – the Pay Gap Action Plan outlined by Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission to help close gender, Māori, Pacific and ethnic pay gaps across the Public Service.

Kāinga Ora is committed to Kia Toipoto(external link) and will support Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission to close gender, Māori, Pacific and ethnic pay gaps across the New Zealand Public Service. By putting Kia Toipoto into action at Kāinga Ora we will follow the guidance of the Public Service Commission which will include engaging with our people and unions to reduce any gaps.

We will closely measure our progress to improve our position and contribute the reducing the pay gaps in the public service. At Kāinga Ora people get the same pay for the same work, no matter what gender or ethnicity. Remuneration is linked to the position and not the individual or their performance. Our intention is to also have a clear set of opportunities for all people at Kāinga Ora to achieve their career aspirations and we are committed to developing our people to be the best they can be.
