Our jobs are interesting and fulfilling, and provide unique opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable New Zealanders.

We're focused on helping our people develop their skills and build their careers as housing professionals, so together we can make the biggest possible difference in the lives of our tenants.

There are four main components to the way we grow the capability of our people:

  • On-Boarding and Induction Programmes - all our new staff are taken through comprehensive programmes, which inform them about our structure, history, and ways of working.
  • Our Professional Development Programmes provide our people with on-the-job training and formal courses in a range of different subject areas. Our (Level 4) New Zealand Certificate in Residential Property Management, for example, has been designed to reflect the skills and knowledge relevant for our Tenancy Managers, and is established on the National Qualifications Framework.
  • Management and Leadership Training Programmes - we recognise the importance of developing our key talent and managers, and have made it a priority to build Career Pathways and carry out effective Succession Planning.
  • Our Health, Safety and Security Programmes ensure our frontline and specialist staff are able to work safely and securely with our tenants and at our worksites.
