Partnering together for Wesley

Bins, rubbish bags and some energetic helpers have ensured some great wellbeing outcomes for Kāinga Ora customers living in the central Auckland suburb of Wesley.
Mt Roskill Housing and Wellbeing Manager Jordan Seymour said the Kāinga Ora Mt Roskill team partnered with Earth Action Trust to make more than a dozen streets in Wesley look spick and span again. Provisions were supplied by the Trust with the local Roskill team providing the manpower for the clean-up.
Reflecting on the outcomes for customers Jordan says it’s amazing just what can be achieved in a relatively short amount of time when everyone is working together towards a common goal.
Agnes Granada Co-ordinator for Earth Action Trust agrees.
“The Trust really enjoyed working collaboratively with Kāinga Ora. The work we did throughout Wesley will benefit Kāinga Ora customers living in this community while also sending aroha to Papatuanuku – Mother Earth. While it was a street cleaning Mahi, we were also able to raise awareness around a more sustainable future too”, Agnes says.
While this is the last clean-up for the year Jordan says Kāinga Ora will be looking forward to further opportunities to work with the Trust in 2023.
