Getting our tenants active with the Wellington City Council leisure card

This initiative for Kāinga Ora tenants is to keep them active by being given access to the fitness facilities operated by WCC such as the Freyberg pool and gym.

Senior Stakeholder Relationship Manager, Renee,  and Area Manager Alice have been working with WCC in collaboration on this project.

Tenants at Kāinga Ora’s Dixon Street complex were invited to a session at their community room and several took up the opportunity to speak with WCC and most were issued with their new leisure card.

Catherine, one of our tenants, is excited to get back into swimming as she has fond memories of swimming at Freyburg when she was younger.

Kāinga Ora plans on expanding this opportunity out to our Berhampore and Strathmore complexes to get them signed up for their free leisure card.
