Issue 12 - Autumn 2019

Contractor Connect - Autumn 2019 [PDF, 875 KB]

In this Autumn edition of Contractor Connect, our lead story is about making a good first impression when our contractors visit our tenants. We need to understand what it takes to be a “world-class maintenance and repairs service”.

We read about Tana, an 8-year-old boy with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and how a generous donation will have a huge impact on his life. We have stories about great collaboration and teamwork helping a community of 26 Housing New Zealand homes, how team work helped finish a job two weeks early and how our Dunedin contractor is doing their bit to help the environment.

You’ll be able to catch up on the hard work of the team at Programmed Facility Management, as well as hearing – directly from one of our tenants – high praise for one of the team at Spencer Henshaw.

Happy reading. We’ll catch you all again when the weather is a little warmer.

Contractor Connect - Summer 2018 [PDF, 1.5 MB]

In this Summer edition of Contractor Connect, our lead story is about a big clean up in a Mangere street which also provided an opportunity to formally acknowledge students from two local schools who took part in work experience over the last school holidays.

We also have stories about how great collaboration and teamwork saved a much loved plum tree, PFM’s new E-Texting initiative and how our Dunedin contractor is doing their bit to help the environment. We also have a story about a recent Innovation Award win by our Health, Safety and Security team.

We finish off the year with a summary of some of the great feedback we've received from tenants.

Catch you all again in 2019.

Issue 10 - Spring 2018

Contractor Connect - Spring 2018 [PDF, 816 KB]

In this Spring edition of Contractor Connect we have many interesting stories.

Our lead story is about a new partnership providing skills and work experience for Mangere College students. We also share a very personal story about Switched On Group subbie Paul Lynch, who is now a published author, having written a book to help deal with the tragic suicide of his brother.

We’ve included an aspirational story about the journey of Spotless’ John Clifford from plumber to business owner, and stories about keeping teams safe and healthy in the field. We also highlight a pilot project in the Hutt to improve the thermal performance of some of our older homes.

And it just wouldn’t be Contractor Connect if we didn’t showcase some of the fabulous teamwork we know happens out there every day of the week.

Enjoy!

Further down the country, our contractors played a major part in a successful family fun day in Mosgiel. This edition further celebrates not just the work of our contractors but the extra effort they out into their communities.
