Planned developments
With the strong and increasing demand for housing in Hamilton and the Waikato, Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities has a large build programme underway to redevelop some existing state housing. By making better use of existing properties which have large sections, some of which are next to each other, we will replace these older homes with more modern, warm and dry homes.
We currently have plans to build over 850 new homes in Hamilton over the next few years. We are currently investigating how we could redevelopment houses in the following streets.

To help meet the urgent need for more warm, dry and modern homes for whānau and tamariki, Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is investigating housing development options for current and new sites to help meet the growing demand for housing in the Waikato.
We are in the very early stages of exploring how these sites could best be developed and it’s important to note there are no confirmed plans or designs.
