Wellington region
With the strong and increasing demand for housing in the Wellington region, Kāinga Ora is working on a large build programme.
Wellington region housing developments
We currently have developments underway, and early plans suggest we could deliver more than 180 developments, providing around 1,000 new homes, across the region in the next few years in Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua, Kāpiti and the Wairarapa.
Community engagement
Keeping our neighbours informed during the development journey is really important to us. We have drop-in sessions regularly across the region to enable neighbours and community to speak with us in person and learn more about our work programme. We’ve also developed city-wide updates and interactive maps to provide greater access to communities to understand what’s happening on our projects
